Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Review (Video)
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is Big, Bold and Beautiful and is a come-back from last years Note 7 that had a lot of issues with its battery. This device is sort of a redemption for Samsung and hopes to put the Note series back on the Smartphone Throne.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 – Display, Design & Build
The Galaxy Note 8 sports a huge 6.3-inch Quad HD+ Super Amoled display. Its resolution is 2960 x 1440 pixels which amounts to a whopping 522 ppi (Pixels per Inch).
The Galaxy Note 8 has 6 GBs of RAM for proper multitasking. The device also comes with three options of internal storage (64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB).
The Galaxy Note 8 is equipped with the Snapdragon 835 or the Exynos 8895 CPU (dependent on your region). The Snapdragon 835 variant is accompanied by the Adreno 540 GPU while the Exynos 8895 variant has the Mali-G71 MP20 GPU inside.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 also comes with a 3,300 mAh non-removable battery and is IP68 certified; Providing you with protection from water and dust.
Software
The Galaxy Note 8 runs Samsung’s Experience UI 8.5 atop Android 7.1.1 Nougat and there are plans for the device to receive the Android 8.0 Oreo update. I do hope this update gets to this device and the S8 and S8+ as well in quick time.
Cameras
The Galaxy Note 8 is the first Galaxy phone to sport a dual-camera setup. This device comes with a dual 12MP optically stabilized cameras at the back of the phone. One being a Wide angle lens and the other a Telephoto lens.
There is now a new live-focus mode that allows you take portrait photos with your camera; giving you those nice blurry background or bokeh that you normally get with DSLRs. The camera simultaneously takes two pictures at a once giving you the option to edit your photos with even greater functionality. The Note 8 also comes with an optically stabilized front facing selfie shooter.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Price & Release Date
This device will be available for pre-order in Nigeria from late September and will arrive in your hands on the 13th of October, 2017. The Galaxy Note 8 will come in Midnight Black, Maple Gold, Orchid Grey & Deep Sea Blue colours. There hasn’t been any word given by Samsung about the pricing of the Galaxy Note 8.
This device should cost between $900 and $950 which translates to between N340k – N400k.
