Google set to launch the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL – Images Leaked
Google is set to launch its new Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones on October 4, 2017. There are also reports that indicate the likely launch of a laptop, Bluetooth speaker, VR headsets.
The Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, are said to be made by HTC and LG respectively. We have seen the two smartphones in the form of leaks and rumours in previous weeks. A report from Venturebeat claims to give us a clear picture on the two handsets and also reveals some more details on their specifications.
According to the images shared by Venture Beat’s Evan Blass, the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will sport a slightly tweaked home screen where the Google search bar is now at the bottom, even below the apps seen at the dock in Pixel launchers till now. On top, now lies certain reminders and notification alerts on a transparent background.
Confirming the previous claims made by the Droid Life website, the images show the alleged Pixel 2 sporting regular sized bezels above and below the screen with dual speakers. At the back there is a single rear camera on top left corner and a fingerprint centre at the centre. It has the same glass+metal design like the last year’s Pixel smartphones except that the glass area is lesser than before. The handset will come in Light Blue, Black and White colours.
Specification
The Pixel 2 is said to sport a 5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) with 16:9 aspect ratio. The Pixel 2 XL will be sporting a QHD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio.
Some of the other features mentioned include 4GB RAM, 64GB/128GB inbuilt storage and a 12MP single rear camera. According to Droid Life, the Pixel 2 may come with a price tag of $649 and $749 for the 64GB and 128GB models while the Pixel 2 XL may cost $849 and $949 for the same storage variants
