5 Reasons the Redmi Note 7 Rocks and Why You Should Get One.

Xiaomi is on roll with their mobile devices. Their build quality is getting better with time, MIUI is always a joy to use, well… except for the Ads and their prices are mostly unbeatable for what you get.

One of such phones from Xiaomi that tells this story is the Redmi Note 7 (RN7) and you can see this from a lot of articles and videos on the web. So I decide to make this video on my top 5 reasons why you should buy the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7.

Hey guys my name is Henreeneo and if you’re here for the first time, thanks for stopping by and consider hitting the subscribe button if you do enjoy this video.

NUMBER FIVE – SPECS AND DURABILITY

My number two reason why you should buy the Redmi Note 7 is its spec and durability.

So you’re getting a really specced-out mid-range device here. The Redmi Note 7 sports an Octa-Core Snapdragon 660 processor, paired with an Adreno 512 GPU. This combination should offer more than enough power to runs games and apps smoothly.

I’ve had no issue running both causal 2d and 3d games on this device. It performs decently.

You’ve also got a phone with a 4000mah battery that can go from 0 – 80% in about 40 minutes using an 18watts fast charger. This battery is more than enough for a day of use.

I’m a heavy user of my devices and I was able to get on average 5 to 6 hours of screen on time. And at the end of the day I’m usually winding down with between 25 – 35% of battery life left.

The specs on the Redmi Note 7 should be more than enough for anyone who isn’t a power users. Performance is great and you should have basically no problems multitasking and running your everyday apps.

This phone comes in three variants.

  1. 3 Gigs of RAM and 32Gb of storage
  2. Another with 4 Gigs of RAM and 64GB of storage
  3. or a third variant which sports 4 Gigs of RAM and 128GB of storage

All variants are of the same build and design. They come in three color variety including Twilight Gold, Fantasy Blue and Bright Black which is what I have here, and they are quite durable.

Xiaomi says the glass on this phone is Gorilla Glass 5 and it’s unbreakable. Well I’d like to believe nothing is unbreakable, but I’d definitely give it to Xiaomi that this is one tough glass.

I mean you can use it as a chopping board, a ping pong bat, even use it to kill roaches and it’ll come out looking good.

I’ve had my unit drop a couple of times and had no issues.

NUMBER FOUR – BUILD QUALITY

My number one reason to buy the Redmi Note 7, is the Build Quality. Guys this is an incredible phone for its price.

I mean it’s ridiculous what you’re getting for that price and this phone to be honest absolutely blows many other devices in this price range out of the water. This could be considered flagship build quality. You’ve got that nice looking 2.5d glass to the front and back of the device and have a metal frame running around the phone.

You’ve got very small bezels around the phone with a water drop notch at the top and some chin at the bottom. This chin is a little bit big but it’s not a deal breaker in anyway. The feel in hand of this phone is hard to describe in words, it’s just very enjoyable. You’d find yourself wanting to pick this device up all the time.

It’s got everything an average user would like to see on their smartphone including and IR blaster, a 3.5mm headphone port which seems to be taking a break these days, an LED notification light, a dual hybrid SIM tray which would take either two Nano SIMs or a Nano SIM and a Micro SD Card. You’ve got USB C, a fingerprint scanner and a total of 3 cameras. Two behind and one in front. More on these later.

So take it from me when I say this device is a looker and its build quality is flagship level.

It scores an 8.5 out of 10 for build quality.

NUMBER THREE – SCREEN

Third reason to buy the Redmi Note 7 is its screen. The Note 7 comes with a reasonably sized beautiful 6.3 inch FHD display with 2340 x 1080 resolution, it’s got a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 409 pixels per inch.

This screen looks great and I enjoy watching videos and reading on this screen.

Videos are capped at 1080p and they look quite good. It’s not an OLED panel so don’t expect those super dark blacks. But color vibrancy is at a sweet spot here and viewing angle are quite good.

Now even with that 1080p screen don’t expect to be able to play HD videos on Netflix. This is due to the absence of the Widevine L1 DRM support in this device. So you’re capped at 480p videos on Netflix, Amazon Videos and Google play movies etcetera.

NUMBER TWO – CAMERA

Yooooooo. The Cameras on this phone though. Absolutely Impressive. Then when you download the moded GCAM apk for this phone, it goes from Yooo…. To Yooooooooooooooooo.

To be honest pictures from the stock camera app are quite good giving beautiful shots but the images are mostly soft. But using the GCAM app, the Images take on Pixel level quality producing absolutely beautiful HDR images with great details, super clean colors and just very beautiful looking images everytime.

You’re setup with three cameras, two behind and one in front. The dual rear cameras comprises of a 48MP main shooter and 5MP depth sensing camera. The selfie camera is 13MP shooter.

You would not be disappointed with images from this phone. Let’s take a look at some images I took with the Redmi Note 7.

So as you can see the Note 7 performs decently when it comes to photo. They look good and will definitely crush your Instagram game.

Let’s move on.

WORTHY MENTION – MIUI 10

So before we get to my number one reason, I would like to have a worthy mention of the cement that glues all of the experiences you’d have with this phone together and that MIUI 10. It’s beautiful, it’s fast, fluid, clean, and absolute a joy to use and it just makes this device more appealing.

MIUI 10 rocks! Its gesture navigation is one of the best out there and the good thing about MIUI is that you get regular updates and improvement from Xiaomi.

MIUI 11 would be out soon and I can’t wait to see what the Xiaomi UI/UX team delivers with that.

NUMBER ONE – PRICE

Now on to my Number 1 reason why you should buy the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7. It’s Price! You absolutely can’t go wrong with all you’re getting at this price point. This is the most complete $150 smartphone you can get (N58, 000.00 if you live in Nigeria).

This device has it all. From looks, to the specs, to its performance, to the software and then crown it all up with the 48MP camera. You’re getting a great deal with the Redmi Note 7.

That price is lit and I would definitely recommend this phone to anyone on a budget.
